This violin was commissioned by Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra for their annual fund-raising auction. They supplied me with the violin, and I donated my time in ornamenting it. The auction's theme was "Florentine Splendor", so I chose to decorate the instrument with some Italianate motifs. The design for the sides and the pegbox is borrowed from a Stradivarius violin nicknamed "The Old Bull".
