This completely unique instrument was commissioned by a composer, and was built by Oregon instrument maker, Owen Daly. Each octave contains 22 notes to facilitate microtonal compositions. The client asked me to decorate the soundboard with a Tibetan mandala known as the Sri Yantra. I used only the pigments which would have been used in traditional Tibetan thangka paintings a few hundred years ago.
